Red deer stalking Stay
Stag stalking in the Pyrenees

From mid-September, the deer's bellow resounds through the forest, giving rise to one of nature's most beautiful spectacles! It's always a special time of year, when the big stags, which have remained very discreet until now, emerge from the depths of the woods to ensure the reproduction of the species.

Le territoire

Deer hunting in the Pyrenees takes place from 25 September to 15 October. The diversity of our territories means that we can hunt in mountain forests as well as in grasslands at altitudes of up to 2,000 metres, and sometimes more.

Trophies

Trophies are not guaranteed and their quality varies. Priority will be given to stags with a 7th head or more. However, it's worth remembering that stag hunting in the mountains remains an authentic hunt for totally wild and wary animals.

The Pyrenean stag has 8, 10 and 12 horns, rarely 14. This is because it is a "mountain" stag, smaller than its lowland congeners. It is therefore this type of trophy that it is reasonable to hope to harvest.

In all cases, the quality of the hunt will always take precedence over quantity, which is why we only shoot around thirty stags each season.
